What personal data we collect & why we collect it
Comments
When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form plus the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string (hash) of your email may be sent to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Their privacy policy is here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval, your profile picture is visible next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images, avoid images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site can download and extract location data from images.
Contact forms
When you submit a query via our contact form, we collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Order number (optional)
- The message you send
We use this data only to answer your query or provide support. Form submissions are kept for 6 months and then automatically deleted from our system.
Orders & checkout
When you purchase from us, we collect:
- Name, billing & shipping address
- Email & phone number
- Items ordered
- Payment method (tokenised by our payment processor – we never store full card details)
We need this information to process your payment, deliver your order, send order-status updates, and comply with tax & accounting regulations.
Cookies
As well as the comment/login cookies listed earlier, we set:
- Cart cookie – remembers what’s in your basket for 7 days.
- Checkout token – keeps your session secure during payment; expires after 1 day.
- Preference cookie – stores size or currency choices for 1 year.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site may not work correctly.
Embedded content
Articles may include embedded videos, images or social posts. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you visited the third-party site directly and may collect data about you, use cookies, or track your interaction.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics and Facebook/Meta Pixel to understand traffic and measure ad performance. These services collect anonymised information such as pages visited, time on site, and device type. IP addresses are truncated or masked where possible. Analytics data is retained for 14–26 months and used only in aggregate.

We never sell or rent your personal data.
How long we retain your data
- Comments – indefinitely.
- Contact-form entries – 6 months.
- Order records – 7 years (UK tax law).
- Inactive accounts – deleted after 24 months of no activity.
- Analytics – 14–26 months, then automatic deletion.
Your rights over your data (UK GDPR)
You can at any time:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Object to processing or request restriction.
- Ask for data portability to another service.
- Lodge a complaint with the UK ICO (https://ico.org.uk) if you feel we have not handled your data properly.

Where we send your data
Our website is hosted on UK/EU servers. Some third-party services (e.g., payment or email providers) may transfer data outside the UK/EU. When they do, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses, UK IDTA, or an adequacy decision to keep your data safe.
How we protect your data
